Candice Schkurat – Director of Mackenzi Creations has loved weddings for as long as she could remember. When at only age 4 found out her kinda teacher was getting married she just HAD to be there, she just HAD to go!

Growing up she would watch the “happily ever after” wedding scenes in Disney movies over and over again and every week when changing the bed sheets much to the ridicule of her sisters would wrap one sheet around her as the wedding dress and the other as a train, grab a bunch of fake flowers and “Walk down” the Hallway “Isle. She was destined to plan & coordinate weddings.

Knowing this passion Candice chose to study the hospitality & Events Industry. Throughout 5 years obtained her Certificate 2 in hospitality Operations, Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management and Bachelor of Science – Hospitality Management. These degrees at university allowed her to gain knowledge and experience in all aspects of hospitality. Events, Food, Wine, Back of house, front of house, accounting, running a business and more.

Candice has worked as the Functions & Events Coordinator for some of the most prestigious wedding venues around Melbourne and has planned & coordinated over 150 Weddings & Events.

Hi Candice,

As I said on the night, the best decision we made throughout the entire process of planning our wedding was to call you. From the very first phone call, your energy and enthusiasm won us over. Within hours you'd sent us a detailed list of ideas full of wonderful suggestions and a list of suppliers. We knew instantly we'd made the right choice and you never once let us down.

I'm sure all brides and grooms hear the same thing, but so many of our guests have told us they've never enjoyed a wedding more than ours. It's lovely to hear and it's largely thanks to you. More importantly, from our point of view, we were able to sit back and enjoy our wedding day without having to worry about anything. We didn't have to worry if the band would be on time, whether the flowers would live up to expectations, whether the bills had all been paid and so on and so on.

Again, thanks to you, we had the time of our lives. We take nothing but wonderful, positive memories from our wedding. It was just brilliant (and so wonderfully easy) working with you in the five months leading up to the event. I cannot imagine how we would have pulled it off if you weren't an email away, an sms or a phone call away. Sorry, if we were demanding at times ... like finding a hair decoration at the last minute or making a contingency plan for an alternative veil! If we drove you insane, even for a second, you never showed it - the consummate professional.

Your contacts are amazing. You provided the perfect blend of listening to what we wanted and suggesting the latest designs/fashions to match what we were aiming for, then providing the perfect suppliers to deliver. All the suppliers were totally brilliant. If we'd chosen randomly, we'd have been guessing. You led us in the right direction from the very first day. When we really wanted something, like a particular band, you made it happen. When we didn't want something, like a videographer, you didn't put pressure on us to do it.

As for the wedding day - that topped it all off. I'm convinced you have two identical triplet sisters, because somehow you managed to be everywhere, all the time! I don't know where you get your energy but, if you could bottle it, you'd make a fortune.

We decided to hire a wedding planner because we were planning a wedding in Melbourne from Singapore. But, knowing what we now know, I'd do the same again if we'd lived in Melbourne. I cannot recommend you enough.

One final thing before I sign off which might give you a laugh. I was presenting SportsCenter India the other night to about twenty million Indians and we had a story about how a very famous Indian tennis player was marrying an equally famous Pakistani cricketer .. at the end of the story I said "I can recommend a fantastic wedding planner for them." So, don't be surprised if you get a bunch of bookings in Mumbai or Delhi!
